Qaherat Al-Moez Festival and Sur Al-Azbakiya
The Department of Student Life through its Cultural, Artistic and Community Service Section organized the Qaherat Al-Moez Festival and Sur Al-Azbakiya. The event was held during the period of February 23-27, 2020. The festival started with popular folklore dance performances; followed by the various types of fine arts workshops displaying students’ art productions. Apart from the workshops, external exhibiters were present. Their displays include marble, copper and handmade accessories made of silver and other metals. Charity organizations were also included.
Examples of these were El-Watan Organization, Association for Those with Special Needs, Dar Al-Sindas Exhibition for Orphans. The Book Gallery of Sur Al-Azbakiya contains scientific, literary and historical books. Talented students gave several performances including singing, a concert by the university choir team, the Takht Sharqi performance (Arabic music by Khaled Naseem); the festival ended with a performance by the artist Amer Altouni.
